  heres my summary of the dc after recently having the veil lifted from my eyes re the wts

  I noticed this part of your notes and wish to comment:

  "the morbid way in which the WTS without hesitation looks forward to everyone who isn’t a JW killed at Armageddon, the teaching of hate of other people, and the outlandish comments from speakers while on the platform at DC’s. I guess in the past I have thought that some things were odd, but this time around the veil had been lifted."

  I remember so vividly the way my husband and his JW friend and I would sit around and bash "worldly people". The ironic part was that we mainly did it when were drinking and socializing. Every worldly person who ever ticked me off would cause me to fantasize about their destruction and how much better my life would be when they were rotting corpses. I really thought we were better than them. I am so disgusted with the way I used to think. Thank you Winston for bringing that point out.

  WHAT IS YOUR PET PEVE?

  what is it that really irritates you ,i mean the most annoying ,thing that when you see it or hear it you just clench your teeth,we all have them so let's hear yours.mine is religious boasting.there is this home builder that advertises on tv and says his crap then says we are a christien company.oh yes , because he said that i would trust him more then anyone else,he must have higher standards.

  (ya right).or those people who advertise with bumper stickers of their religion,and yes the freaking door bell ringers trying to push their crap on me.isn't it what you feel inside?why advertise to everyone?does it make you feel more important or more religious?because of the attempt to show me that you have faith does not make me feel i could trust you.

  this is just one of my irritants and hope not do offend,everyone has the right.

  Brats. Children who cry so loud in a public place that I want to shove a sock in thier mouths. You know the ones. They have this gravel sound to thier voice and when you make eye contact with the little monsters, they pause for a brief moment because they know you have figured them out and that they are only doing it because their worthless parent lets them get away with it. These are also the parents that have not been told about BIRTH CONTROL, so they have like 6 or 7 of the little creatures!

  How many of you were disfellowshipped?

  just curious.

  i get the impression from reading posts that a great deal are.

  i also noticed while i was studying with them that virtually everybody has/had a relative that was disfellowshipped or knew someone who is/was.

  Ahh, the D word. Yes, I was disfellowshiped blessed in '97. I used to be so judgemental of those who were df'd when I was supposedly active. It was like the last thing I would have ever thought would happen to me. My husband and I were raised in the truth cult, and we just sorta rolled with the flow. I would always notice how sad and down the df'd ones looked when they would attend a meeting. Like they were scared to death I would make eye contact with them. Now when I run into JW's out in public ('cause I wouldn't be caught dead in a KH) I am the one joking around and laughing and they look stone cold and depressed. Weird huh?

  this is my final and very last post after this i will not return here as someone here made something clear to me.

  my faith in god and jesus christ cannot and i will not tolerate others who do not believe to attempt to stumble me or change my mind at all.

  my faith stands strong and true and none of you can do nothing to change it.. gods word say "do not cast your pearls before swine".

  i think maybe some of the members on this board criticise those of us who are always bringing up our childhood experiences in the jw organization because they may have only been exposed to it briefly and then got out quick.

  maybe they think it was all in our heads and we should just get over it.

  what is so sad is that every decision i ever made in my life either meant i would die at armageddon or live forever in the new system because that was reality.

What is so sad is that EVERY decision I ever made in my life either meant I would die at Armageddon or live forever in the New System because that was reality. It was REAL. Even when I finally did go out and party and do some things I'm not proud of, I knew I was choosing to DIE at Armageddon. I thought, "well I am gonna live it up while I can and die happy". I guess I never believed I was created to have free will. I believed that God was the guy the society told me he was. I never thought he would love me just for being me. It was do all this stuff, or die. I grew up believing that being an individual and doing what brought pleasure in MY life was pointless. If I didn't follow all the rules according to the society of how a servant of God should be then it wouldn't matter what I wanted to pursue in my life, I would be destroyed anyway. I never had the drive to pursue a career or hobby because my destiny was already fixed. Now that is the epitome of mind control. There is so much to experience on this earth. I want to feel the rush and excitement of LIVING!

  If I got close to any of them it was always the same scenario....TOO MANY BUSYBODIES IN MY BUSINESS. I'll never forget all of the sisters who would try to control everything that went on in my pathetic little life. Everything from what kind of movies I rented to what kind of art I hung on my walls. Not to mention how I dressed. They have a way of controlling you by the way they always want to make suggestions thier opinions known on how you can be more theocratic like them. They controlled whether or not I was invited to the latest function they were having by how clone-like I appeared.

  i was raised a jw myself so i have heard your kind of comment from others when i left.

  when you go door to door, can you please explain to me what you are trying to tell the people who have never heard of the jw's before.

  Yeah, when I said "you sound arrogant and uninformed about the world around you," it probably dawned on him, "Yikes, she just described how the Pharasees were around Jesus."

  Not that I would EVER compare myself to Jesus. UKNOWTHETRUTH would,.....but I wouldn't.
